Wow! I'm back!

So....Yeah.

Hi.

Sorry. I've been (predictably) super busy. School is amazing. Frustrating. Challenging. Blah. Blah. Blah.

I'm teaching 10th grade World History, for those who didn't know/forgot/etc. I don't have a classroom so I float from room to room, floor to floor, using classrooms while other teachers have their planning periods. It's...interesting. Often a problem, sometimes a blessing (don't have an entire room to clean up/take care of). I'm 3 times more likely to lose things than stationary teachers, have to be 3 times as organized, 3 times as patient and understanding...the list goes on. The number of challenges and frustrations are too great to mention and the fun and inspiring things seem to be too few. So here are some of the few and the many:

I've been told twice that I am a fun teacher and that someone learned something today.
One of my girls told me that I should get my eyebrows shaped. Apparently, I'm not hideous, but would be much prettier if my eyebrows were better.
3 pages of reading is too much homework.
"Pysch, naw."
Any student: "Ms. S! Ms. S ! Ms. S! Ms. S! Ms. S! Ms. S! Ms. S! Ms. S! Ms. S! Ms. S! Ms. S! Ms. S!" Me: "_____, do you see me talking with ______? I'll be over as soon as I'm done."
"Dang, Ms. S is serious today."
"Can I have a dollar?"
Me: "I have no idea what I'm going to be doing today. Eeeek! .........ooo! Shiny activity!"
"Why do you think that? .....Why do you think that? ......Why? ......What about X? ....Exactly! Can you repeat that so that everyone can hear?" Student: "Why are you always asking us questions?"

And, I've run out of things to say. So, I will do my utmost to post more often so that I don't forget things.

Oh, and now I have retirement savings. w00t.
