Oh dear, have I been remiss

My apologies, family, for not updating! My training kept me very busy. I taught 11th grade U. S. history at Dunbar Senior High School and had a pretty good class. They sometimes got really into the lessons and other times...it was hard for us to get them to say hello. But all in all, they were really good and I have high hopes for them. I co-taught the class with a girl, Tiffany, and became pretty good friends with her. We planned a lot of the lessons together and were very willing to step in when the other faltered.

On weekends, I planned lessons, explored DC a little, and recovered from the week. The house that I was living in was in very preppy Georgetown and was a cute row-house. I had a small room to myself and shared the back porch with the girl who was in the room next door. I didn't spend much time with the people in the house, though because we were all on totally different schedules.

On Saturday the 28th, I moved into my new, permanent home with Lauren and three people that she met through Teach for America. The entire interior of the house is a pale yellow and it's all been recently redone. This is my room:

The dining room and living room are pretty huge:

We have a cute little office and we have an AMAZING kitchen.

So yeah, that's were I'm living. I'm back in Chicago now for about a week and then back to DC. I hope that I'll have a school by that time and then I can start talking about school supplies, etc.

Rock on!
